FEEL THE BEAT

I was considering whether to change a new blog, or to continue with this and I decided to continue...afterall, whether it's the ups or the downs, the beautiful or the ugly, this is my life journey.

I learnt that love is dreaming about the future and working towards it...however, living and loving is about the present. If love dies in the present, there is no more future...to talk about ever again.

Life can only get busier. But am also glad that things are progressing...not busy going in circles.

Am currently on a lead job at work...the first offical one this year (I'm under utilized! :p) stressed, but more occupied with the right things at work. Learning curve is steep, but I definitely have benefited from the challenges faced everyday.

Recently attended the 2nd Ballare International Championship. Great achievement for being 2nd runner up in both the standard pre-amateur and amateur-rising star category. We were pleasantly surprised by the results, especially in the am rising category...as we've just learnt foxtrot. Words from teacher Anthony definitely boosted our performance, and not forgetting all the teachings from teacher Annie and Mikhail. Our hard work paid off, but it's just the start of a long journey. The next comp's gona be in October. The Singapore International Dancesport Championship organized by Sunny Low Dance Studio. It has always been a well organized and recognized comp, and I wanna do my best. I'm sure with the right teachers and attitude, there won't be any problem!

Another achievement this month. We've obtained license for our nutrition club. Shop space has also been confirm at Rochor Centre. This will be our new life journey...and we are more and more certain by the days that this is what we want to do. With our families and friends having shown great results through Herbalife nutrition, we would definitely want to make a difference in people's life and when we hear 'thank you', and see the difference in them, happiness and sense of satisfaction is beyond words.

August is almost coming to an end. It's just less than 6 months from our big day. Preparation has paused for a long time! For the obvious reasons states above... :) but well, at least I hv a group of supportive sisters whom I know will be there for me! Settled. All will be my sisters (all 8 of them). Will be seeing them later at my new house for steamboat. Full attendence! Meanwhile, let me go clean up the house. Bye!

Life's pretty busy... And seems worse than before. My pace is so fast that I find things ard me simly too slow...just like the slow moving vehicles on the highway. Very often I wonder why they are taking their own sweet time on the road... And wonder how can anyone drive at 70km/hr. They must be wondering why I'm cutting lanes like nobody's business too...

Good or not? To be have such full schedule...keeping my body and mind active is a plus, but not letting the mind rest and neglecting the little things in life is a minus. I envy people who can manage such tight schedules and yet can put aside time for things they tend to overlook. It's all about being conscious, and having the discipline to plan and sticking to it. I lack the discipline...is it time to start drawing out a timetable again? I tried it before, but it only worked for a week...hmmm. And when I fail to accomplish what I commit in the timetable, I feel so upset and guilty. Guess this isn't the way.

Wells. Let's start by waking up early tomorrow and taking the bus to work. No cabbing. :(

Okies. One week to my birthday. One year older...but definitely ten years wiser! :p hehe. K shall sleep now.

My brother's leaving for turkey tomorrow. Really, I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not...and I don't know how my parents feel about this. Well, but I do know worry...once fewer person at home again. Mom and I dance very often, that leaves dad and dogs alone at home. When I move out...will it be worse? Sigh.

Our picture was featured on the front page of the Johor newspapers early last month, a few days after the Johor international dance championship held on 30th April. We were pleasantly surprised to see our photos being chosen out of many others. Teacher Mikhail says it was because of the very nice frame, and yes, I can tell he is rather proud of this. This is the second try in the standard division under his training and the dancing was again different from the first round. We are progressing, and today, after more intensive lessons in the group technique class, I can feel the difference in our dancing.

Again, I have changed my costume. :) I'll be wearing it for the next competition 2 weeks from now - to be held at Orchid Country Club. We had less time for practice this round, as my partner went for three weeks of reservist. :( still, i hope that we will do well...better than the last round, not so much on the results but on the dancing. This, I'm pretty sure we can do it.

Finally, the long photoshoot is over. It took place over 3 days...under scorching sun. Thinking back, the process was both terrible (cus it's really tiring and hot) and fun (cus of my funny friends and of cos...being the first photoshoot of my life). Everything was rather impromptu, if absolutely no prior discussion on where to go, and how to shoot...we tried some posing styles, and we really aren't cut out to be models. Cannot pose! After many tries, Hina finally found our style - idiotic, random and cute. :P I guess photos should reflect our true personalities, and not trying to be what we aren't. So, I hope our photos will turn out fine! :) I'm sure they will.

Some of our furnitures have arrived, and the recent addition being my dressing table from picket and rail. Like it alot.

Making progress. The living and bedroom balcony decking will be completed today. Can't wait to see the finished product! The kitchen is the most complete...with fridge, (with fruits / biscuits and milk inside...haha) completed flooring, rice cooker, water heater etc...just waiting for my cutlery set to arrive.

Lighting will be all up by tomorrow, TV console to be delivered on Thursday, guestroom bed coming in on Fri...washing machine is in (and we've bought towels too!)...so are my ironing board / iron...carpet etc. Efficient, aren't we? So far, happy with the purchases.

:) Phototaking will commence next week. Amidst all these planning for our new hse and wedding... I cant believe I'm preparing for my dance competition this SATURDAY at Johor. Do I sound like an iron woman? Please wish me luck for the comp.

I must say that these days I have been pretty happy, regardless at work, dance or personal. I’m glad I had the chance to meet certain people, and lucky to come across an inspiring video called ‘The Secret’…The video’s (anyway it comes in book form as well and I’m gona get it later at Borders) key focus is on the Law of Attraction. In simple terms, it is how the like attracts the like…how positive attracts positive, negative attracts negative. One can easily see from the people around him/her that a positive person is usually surrounded by many like-minded friends…happy, chatty. A negative person attracts ppl who are equally anti-social…and so on. U get the idea. SO, this extends to a person’s thoughts….when you visualize good things happening to u, and repeat this again and again in your mind, better still draw out your dream and look at it everyday, ur mind only generates positive thoughts, and ways to achieve your goals. There is absolutely no space in your mind then to think about ‘what if I fail?’ ‘What if I’m laughed at?’ Soon, you will put your thinking into action naturally and positively…and u will find that very soon you have achieved your goals… Simply 3 steps. Think, Act, Achieve.

Really, things at work and home and dance have not changed a bit. But what is changing is the mind…and it determined my course of action towards things. Outcome? More positive outcomes.

Choose happiness.
